Description
Vintage Chinese import cobalt blue enamel sterling silver dragonfly brooch/pin 9.13 grams. The dragonfly’s eyes are turquoise color. The wings are silver filigree with a vermeil gold wash, accented with soft sky blue and brilliant sapphire blue enamel inserts. The mouth and end of tail have a red/rust iridescent enamel color. Tail is articulated, and moves back and forth with the wearer’s motion. Chinese dragonfly images represent many things including prosperity, harmony, good luck, summer, delicacy, transience, and pureness of character and more. Brooch is marked on the back 925 S.
