Vintage JoAnn Alarid engraved California Missions sterling silver slide medallions leather belt. The belt has sixteen individual stamped and engraved medallions depicting Spanish Missions. The Missions were established 1769 by Catholic priests of the Franciscan order to preach the Christian gospel to the Native Americans. There are twenty one Spanish Missions in California. The belt buckle is stamped 1989, hallmarked and signed sterling. Each medallion is stamped sterling and hallmarked. Jo Ann Alarid is a very talented south western sculpture silver smith.
