Description
Vintage “Chanel” brooch/pin with original box. Brooch features “Maltese Cross” design created originally by “Duke Fulco di Verdura” for Coco Chanel in the early 1920’s. This classic brooch features four gripoix glass cabochons, two purple, two cranberry red and the center cabochon is green. The brooch is marked © Chanel 25 ®, Made in France, 1202 – on the back. As the name describes, the gold-tone setting is a bold “Maltese Cross” motif inspired by the mosaics of “San Vitale” during a trip to Italy by Chanel and her new designer. Brooch is excellent condition appears to have never been worn.
